GHS Art Department was asked to participate with a research project sponsored by Coast Young Professionals and Thalassas. Research is related to cigarette litter and our local beaches. A butt disposal receptacle was painted and will be placed in Jones park on Sat 9/12 during their Beach Clean Up event. Gulfport students are encouraged to participate.

The yearlong course takes students out of the classroom and into Bollinger’s training center. It exposes them to several shipbuilding trades, including welding, pipefitting, ship fitting, and marine electrical.

We were proud to welcome University of Southern Mississippi President Dr. Joe Paul and his recruitment team to Gulfport High School today! Dr. Paul spoke with our juniors and seniors about all that The University of Southern Mississippi has to offer, from academic opportunities and student life to the many pathways available to our students after graduation.
Dr. Paul also took time to visit with GHS students and faculty, making for a meaningful and engaging visit. We appreciate USM for investing in our students and helping them see what their future can hold! 🎓
