AP Course Information
Advanced Placement (AP) courses , endorsed and approved by the CollegeBoard, offer high school students the opportunity to engage in college-level studies while still in high school. These rigorous courses challenge students to think critically, strengthen their academic skills, and explore subjects in greater depth. By enrolling in AP classes, students not only prepare for the demands of college but also have the chance to earn college credit and advanced placement based on their AP exam performance. All students enrolled in AP courses will complete the AP exam in May. Passing scores may be used for college credit, as determined by the respective university/college.
Beyond academics, AP courses demonstrate a student’s commitment to excellence and perseverance—qualities highly valued by colleges and future employers. Participation in AP helps students develop time management, problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills that are essential for success in higher education and beyond.
At Gulfport High School, our AP program empowers students to reach their full potential, explore their interests, and take meaningful steps toward their college and career goals. Gulfport High School currently offers 22 AP courses (listed below).
