9th Grade Principal

Mr. Justin Gros
A Hattiesburg, Mississippi native and 2001 Oak Grove High School graduate, he began his college
journey at Pearl River Community College before obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biology from William
Carey University. During his college years, he played four years of collegiate baseball, demonstrating his
commitment to teamwork, discipline, and leadership.
He has dedicated the past 20 years to the field of education. He earned a Master’s in Education at
William Carey University and later completed a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership at the
University of Southern Mississippi.
He served proudly his last eight years at Gulfport Central Middle School in various roles, including
teacher, Nathan Walker Academy Administrator, and Assistant Principal.
He is now honored to serve as the 9th Grade Principal at Gulfport High School, where he remains
committed to supporting student achievement and fostering a positive and engaging school
environment. He believes that success begins with the ability to build meaningful and positive
relationships.
Above all, he is a proud father of three amazing children: Maddox, Janson, and Hanley Gros.
Guided by core values, he believes that individuals are accountable for their choices and that family
plays the most influential role in shaping children and society. He recognizes that everyone learns
differently and at their own pace, and that self-worth and respect are fundamental to personal
fulfillment. He maintains that setting high expectations drives greater achievement, that every person
possesses inherent value, and that education unlocks endless opportunities. For him, learning is a
lifelong journey.
