Adam Tackitt, Director of Bands at GCMS; Assistant at GHS

Adam Tackitt graduated from Ridgeland High School in 2009, where he received many awards, including “Most Outstanding Musician” and “The John Philip Sousa Award”. Upon completion of his high school studies, Mr. Tackitt attended the University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in Music Education. While at Southern Mississippi, he was a member of many ensembles, including “The Pride of Mississippi” Marching Band, Symphonic Winds, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Lab Band, Trombone Choir, Trombone Octet, and various chamber ensembles such as jazz combo and trombone quartet. He earned his Bachelor’s in Music Education in 2014. In addition to his studies in music education, Mr. Tackitt studied jazz extensively with Lawrence Panella.

Kyle Williams, Assistant Director

Kyle Williams is a native of Slidell, LA. Mr. Williams graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Music Education. While at Southern Miss, Mr. Williams served as tuba section leader for “The Pride of Mississippi”. Mr. Williams was also a member of symphonic winds, the steel pan orchestra, the tuba/euphonium ensemble, the basketball pep band, and the jazz band. He taught elementary music before joining Gulfport Central Middle School.
