In the Gulfport School District, students in elementary and middle schools begin exploring career pathways through targeted career awareness and development activities. As they transition to high school, students continue to identify career paths that align with their interests and skills, while focusing on mastering a rigorous academic curriculum with an emphasis on ACT preparedness. By their junior year, students engage in structured opportunities to gain real-world exposure in their areas of interest through seminars, project-based learning, clinical observations, internships, and job shadowing. Alongside these experiences, they continue to take academic, career-related, and college courses, and participate in extracurricular activities and school events.

At Gulfport High School, the Academic Institutes provide students with the chance to discover and develop their passions, empowering them to choose educational pathways that integrate their skills, aptitudes, and interests. We are dedicated to partnering with students, parents, faculty, community and business leaders, and higher education institutions to create a supportive and holistic educational environment. Our goal is to enhance students' success as they transition from high school to traditional college, technical college, or the job market.
